Give the next task a home.

Keep related work together so the next conversation has the right files and instructions.

You know the difference between a chat, a ChatGPT project, and a local folder.

1

Choose what should stay together

A one-off question can stay in its own chat. An ongoing workshop deserves a project: the plan, invitation draft, and checklist belong together, with a separate conversation for each outcome.

2

Use a ChatGPT project for shared context

Create a project called Workshop planning. Add your practice brief as a source and set a short project instruction: Use plain English. Flag missing dates or owners. Keep examples fictional. Project instructions apply within that project.

3

Use a local project for files on your computer

Your Codex practice project points to the folder you selected earlier. That folder contains the actual page. A ChatGPT project with uploaded sources does not automatically grant access to an arbitrary folder on your computer.

4

Save preferences in the right place

In ChatGPT, review Personalization settings if you want recurring style preferences. Keep project facts with the project and keep important outputs in your own files. Do not rely on a remembered detail as the only record of a decision.

Try this in the app
Using only the sources in this project, list the confirmed workshop details, missing decisions, and next actions. If an owner or date is absent, write Not confirmed instead of guessing.

Sources and availability
